ARREST AND BAIL ISSUESThe Rollins Law Group can help you obtain a reasonable bail or in the alternative, be released on your own recognizance. If you are released on your own recognizance or “O.R.” no bail will be required and you will released upon signing a promise to appear at the next court date.
If a bondsman is necessary, we can assist you in locating one. The amount of bail is determined by a “bail schedule” the client posts a bail bond (usually 10% of the amount of bail) or posts cash or property to secure attendance at the criminal court hearing.
TRIAL OR PLEA BARGAINING & SENTENCINGThe Rollins Law Group is prepared to aggressively fight for a defendant and go to trial. The client is presumed innocent and always has a right to plead “not guilty” regardless of the facts. Most criminal cases in the United States (perhaps greater 90%), however, are resolved by some type of plea agreement. Pleas agreements are generally left to the discretion of the prosecutor in both state and federal courts, but there are usually negotiable issues in any case. Judges, however, reserve the right to accept or reject a plea agreement.
We will put our experience and dedication to work to provide you with the right representation and guidance. You can rest assured that we will spend the time necessary to make sure that we have developed the best defenses possible prior to discussing settlement or going to trial.
ALTERNATIVES TO JAILJust because a defendant is sentenced to jail, does not always mean he/she has to actually sit in jail. The Rollins Law Group is experienced in finding numerous alternatives the court will recognize in lieu of actually having to go to jail.
These include community service, drug rehabilitation centers, house arrest, work furlough, monetary fines and suspended sentences. Contact us today to learn more about how we can help you. |
